Welcome to the official website of the Mercy Seat Baptist Church. We are located in the Birthplace of Texas, beautiful Washington, Texas. God has blessed us to be in service to him since 1894. Thus, we are celebrating our 131st anniversary this year!
Mercy Seat has stood the test of time and has a history that showcases that. After much prayer and planning, we are moving forward with building a new sanctuary. It is more than simply a building. It will be a place where the community is welcome to come and help us worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Arrival of Volunteer Christian Builders
On January 12, 2026, Volunteer Christian Builders (VCB) will begin the final phases of constructing our new church on FM 912. We thank God for leading them to us. To give them strength, we must provide daily lunch and dinner for a crew of 23 - 25 workers. If you wish to donate a meal, provide funds for meal purchase, or help in any way, please reach out to us. They will be present January 12 - 23 and February 2 - 13. Thank you! ♥️
